Art has consumed my life since I was 16 years old. What started as a survival strategy to deal with the awkward days of high school quickly evolved into a career path, and before I knew it I was enrolled in the art program at the University of Wisconsin – Madison. That next chapter led me to a variety of educational and professional opportunities in the ceramics and glass worlds. As a result, my work possesses a foundation built on material explorations and applied (if poorly understood) chemistry. I utilize this visual language along with a color palette straight from my tropical Colombian roots to create work that explores the tight line between our ancestral selves and contemporary society.
